What is Sucka Nite?

Sucka Nite is a collective and a series of live performances begun in 2001 by Stacia Beer and Carmella Storniola. In the beginning it was a loose affiliation of stage performers and wackos who performed in a gong-show setting at local Seattle clubs. As it turns out, this was not the greatest of ideas and Sucka Nite took a brief hiatus before rising again in it’s current form. What IS this new form, you ask? Well, we were a collection of people who needed yet another creative project in our lives. At 15 strong, we began by performing our version of A Year Without a Santa Claus. We then moved on to write and perform 'Saturday Night Live' style shows at local clubs where we, at least, had fun.
After little thought, we decided to change our medium, and delve into film.

Film Description and Synopsis (150-200 words)

LeMieux is a comedy not quite about the quest for love, and not quite about barflies - it resides in the middle where the silliness meets. LeMieux is driven by misunderstandings, obsession, and bad judgment. The story opens with two women looking for a good catch at their local bar where, due to a misunderstanding, they end up hitting on a couple of guys who surely have subscriptions to the Fortean Times, and quite possibly Cat Fancy.
Meanwhile, the bartender has a touching relationship with a pick-up artist obsessed with bad pick-up lines.

Dialogue-driven and unconventional, LeMieux ties up quite nicely with smiles all around.
